Trainees (PIA) and professional interns in the year of recognition as a state-recognized educator (m/f/d)

From August 2025 we are looking for trainees (PIA) and professional interns in the recognition year to become a state-recognized educator (m/f/d)!

MyDagis is a bilingual daycare center (German/English) with locations in Cologne Sürth and Bocklemünd, where we care for children from 0 to 6 years. Our special, sustainable concept based on Scandinavian models focuses on forest education (forest days and nature projects as well as our own forest group with a daycare construction trailer), vegetarian/vegan nutrition (freshly cooked meals from our own kitchen every day), a cultural program (e.g. theater and museum visits), changing additional activities (such as yoga, ballet, music, theater) and animal-assisted education (daycare dog and daycare chickens). Another important focus of our work is gender-sensitive education, for which we regularly offer further training.


Tasks

  • participation in the daily routine, e.g. morning circle, mealtimes, quiet times
  • supporting the children in playing, handicrafts, gymnastics, making music, reading, etc.
  • setting up and organizing the play and learning environment
  • planning and implementing age-appropriate educational activities
  • observing and documenting children’s development
  • stimulating and promoting developmental and educational processes
  • creating educational partnerships with parents and caregivers
  • cooperation with the daycare center team
  • participation in team meetings
  • taking on tasks in the team and independent project work
  • participation in further education and training courses
  • reflection on own behavior and learning
  • first aid for children

Qualification

  • PIA: A-levels and completion of two years of vocational training in the social sector (e.g. childcare, social assistant)
  • PIA: … or a technical secondary school leaving certificate and at least five years of professional experience in socio-educational institutions
  • PIA: … or completion of a two-year vocational school or technical secondary school for social and health care
  • PIA: … or successfully completed vocational training in conjunction with at least six weeks of professional activity in a socio-educational institution (e.g. voluntary social year, federal voluntary service, internship)
  • PIA: … or higher education entrance qualification (general higher education entrance qualification; entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences) in conjunction with a professional activity of at least six weeks in a socio-educational institution (e.g. voluntary social year, federal voluntary service, internship)
  • PIA: Registration at a vocational college/technical college of your choice and written confirmation of a school place is the prerequisite for the conclusion of a training contract via the practice center
  • professional internship: Two years of school-based training as an educator already completed
  • enjoy working with children from 0 to 6 years of age
