Pedagogical Director (Pädagogische Leitung) (m/f/d) wanted! (tandem position)

From 01.04.2025 we are looking for a full-time or part-time (at least 30 hours/week) Pedagogical Director (tandem position). Apply now and join the two-person management team for our 8-group day care centre “Kita in der Wachsfabrik”!

MyDagis is a bilingual Kita (German/English) with locations in Cologne Sürth and Bocklemünd, where we care for children from 0 to 6 years. Our special, sustainable concept based on Scandinavian models focuses on forest education (forest days and nature projects as well as our own forest group with a Kita construction trailer), vegetarian/vegan nutrition (freshly cooked meals from our own kitchen every day), a cultural programme (e.g. theatre and museum visits), changing additional activities (such as yoga, ballet, music, theatre) and animal-assisted education (Kita dog and Kita chickens). Another important focus of our work is gender-sensitive education, for which we regularly offer further training.

Your tasks

• Employee management
• Work on the educational concept of the Kita
• Coordinating the admission of new children
• Communication with the umbrella organisation (AWO) and public authorities
• Ensuring a smooth daily routine in the Kita
• Planning events and excursions
• Public relations work
• Planning and organising parents’ evenings and team meetings

Your qualifications

• You are a Pedagogical Specialist (Pädagogische Fachkraft) with at least 2 years’ experience as a Pedagogical Director (Pädagogische Leitung) or Deputy Pedagogical Director (Stellvertretende Pädagogische Leitung)
• You stand behind our concept and represent it to the outside world (public, parents, public authorities, etc.)
• You are familiar with children’s rights and incorporate them into your work as a matter of course
• You enjoy creating, bring your own ideas and have an interest in the further development of educational quality
• You can deal with conflicts and work in a solution-orientated way
• You lead your team with openness and appreciation and ensure a good structure in your organisation
• You have an eye for the strengths of the employees, involve parents in the day-to-day running of the Kita and build stable and trusting educational partnerships
• Participation and your own interest in further training is a matter of course for you
• Educational work and documentation are important components of your work
• You have a friendly, positive charisma, are committed, flexible, resilient and reliable
• You have professional and social skills as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills
